Information
O Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Economics, from the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB), was created in 1998 with a master's degree in Economics. Starting in 2006, the doctorate course in Economics began.
Both are academic and recognized for academic excellence in the quadrennial assessment of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). This recognition places the UCB Economics Program among the best in the country in the area of Economics.
The Master and Doctorate in Economics at UCB stand out for their highly qualified faculty, qualified intellectual production among the largest in the area of Economics in the country, advanced internationalization and proven nucleation of their graduates.
The excellent professional qualification offered through various academic activities helps graduates to achieve professional success in various careers in the labor market, developing competencies and abilities that are valued by the private sector, public sector, educational institutions and research centers.
The Program's areas of concentration are Innovation Economics, Regional Economics, and Finance, with each one having specific lines of research.
The masters and doctors graduated from the Program are able to act as teachers and researchers in educational institutions in the area of economics or related areas; identify and take advantage of business opportunities in the market; develop quality research in specialized centers; become creative, innovative and productive leaders, capable of leading teams of high technical level; and, to employ, in an effective and efficient manner, the technical and analytical instruments transmitted by the disciplines and other academic activities carried out during the course.
The Economics Program is very eclectic, welcoming students with diverse areas of training. International Agreements
The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Economics at the Catholic University of Brasília has academic and scientific cooperation agreements with renowned international teaching and research institutions. The purpose of cooperation agreements and agreements is to establish research partnerships, to allow the exchange of teachers and students, to promote the development of joint academic activities, to constitute international research groups, and to enable cultural exchange between participants from the institutions involved. Finance Laboratory
The Finance Laboratory — LabFin — is an initiative of the Postgraduate Studies in Economics at the Catholic University of Brasília in partnership with financial market institutions, and is coordinated by a professor from the permanent body of the Program. LabFin currently operates on Campus I of the UCB, in a specific room, where periodic meetings of the team involved in the project are held.
The main objective of LabFin is to integrate students and teachers from undergraduate courses, not only in Economics, but also in related areas, and of the Postgraduate Studies in Economics to discuss relevant topics of the economic situation in the country and the world and to prepare analytical documents, such as newsletters, that allow monitoring of the financial market and the carrying out of broader studies, such as scientific initiation work and course completion.
Academic Seminars
The Academic Seminar series of the Master and Doctorate Program in Economics at the Catholic University of Brasília has been held biannually since the creation of the master's degree in 1998. The objectives of this initiative are:
1. discuss and debate academic works of general interest;
2. bring students closer to current, innovative research topics adapted to the Program's areas of concentration and lines of research;
3. exchange experiences, ideas, and opportunities with academics and researchers from other national and foreign educational and research institutions.
The Academic Seminars are aimed at students, professors and graduates of the Master and Doctorate in Economics at UCB, but are open to the general public. Thus, everyone is invited to participate in the presentations, which are published in advance on the Program page and have the potential to add knowledge to their academic and professional career.

Scholarship
The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Economics at the Catholic University of Brasília (PPGE-UCB), in partnership with the funding institutions CAPES and CNPq, provides financial support to some master's and doctoral students, selected on the basis of academic merit. Support is granted in the form of Full Scholarships or School Fees for students admitted through the selection process and regularly enrolled in the PPGE-UCB. In the case of the master's degree, the benefits are intended primarily for candidates selected through the national examination of the National Association of Graduate Centers in Economics (ANPEC). For the doctorate, the benefits are distributed by the Selection Committee responsible for classifying and admitting the candidates seeking the vacancies announced in a public notice.

Master's degree: It is a stricto sensu graduate course, whose objective is to deepen the education obtained during graduation, granting an academic degree. The course lasts at least one year and, in addition to the preparation of the dissertation or final work, the candidate must study a certain number of subjects related to their area of concentration, as well as undergo partial and general exams.
Doctorate: It is a stricto sensu graduate course that certifies a person's ability to carry out research in a particular area of science. The courses must last at least two years and, in addition to the preparation of the thesis or final work, the candidate must study a certain number of subjects related to their area of concentration, as well as undergo partial and general exams.
As pós-graduações lato sensu compreendem programas de Especialização e incluem os cursos designados como MBA (Master Business Administration). Têm duração mínima de 360 horas. São abertos a candidatos diplomados em cursos superiores e que atendam às exigências das instituições de ensino. As pós-graduações stricto sensu compreendem programas de mestrado e doutorado. São abertos a candidatos diplomados em cursos superiores de graduação. Ao final do curso o aluno obterá grau acadêmico e diploma.
For regular students, fixed installments are charged, with annual adjustment. On the other hand, special students, who study separate subjects, pay monthly fees fixed biannually in their own public notice. UCB has benefit policies that are updated every semester.
